It is the typical ornament of the Gorals, who carved it into the crossbeams of their homes, indicating the year of construction and the house owner’s name.
Rosettes were also cut out of paper and pinned beneath the attic as a decoration.
Today, it adorns the hotel and restaurant owned by the Strachans in Ždiar. Hotel Bachledka**** Strachan, Penzión ***Strachan and Medvedí Brloh Strachan.
